As far as I know, Steemit is trusted - and you earn “steem” (their currency) by writing and by upvoting, and having your posts upvoted. It’s basically a social content site, like Quora in some ways, like Medium in others. I signed up there, but haven’t really gotten into it. I make more money indirectly via Quora than I think I could directly on Steemit - but, admittedly - I haven’t really tried, either. A handful of people seem to be making quite a bit there - and as with most things like this - most people aren’t.
